Integrate Brimbank Tech School’s Design Sprint program into your curriculum and empower students to tackle real-world challenges using rapid prototyping and design thinking.

This industry-aligned program can be delivered entirely at Brimbank Tech School or through a hybrid model—combining in-class resources with key immersive sessions on-site. Students will collaborate, ideate, and iterate as they develop innovative solutions, gaining critical skills in creativity, teamwork, and user-centered design.

All programs incorporate the elements of learning and teaching in the VTLM 2.0, promoting student agency and effective learning for all students.

Esports Audio: Hype & Broadcast

Powering live gaming with sound and commentary

Students explore the intersection of audio storytelling and live event broadcasting. They’ll learn how to craft compelling esports commentary, develop sonic branding (intros, stingers, sound effects), and manage live audio for streaming platforms.

This program builds confidence in public speaking, technical audio setup, and live production workflows.

Level Up: Games for Competition

Designing games for play and tournament use

Students explore how game mechanics, level design, and player experience shape competitive gameplay. Using gaming platforms and CAD software, they’ll design and prototype game environments optimized for esports-style play.

This program emphasizes design thinking, balance, and user engagement—key elements in curating games for tournaments. Through a design thinking process and industry engagement, students explore storytelling, interaction design and gameplay mechanics in both casual and competitive gaming contexts.

Transport Systems Engineering Bootcamp: Exploring Intermodal Logistics

Exploring logistics across multiple modes

In this one-day, hands-on program, students work in teams of 3 or 4 to design, build, and optimize a model transport system that integrates robotics, automation, and logistics principles.

The challenge simulates a real-world scenario where goods must move efficiently from an airport to a distribution center and finally to a retail outlet—mirroring the journey from baggage handling to final delivery.

Sensing the Emergency: Health Systems Engineering in Aciton

Engineering smarter health response systems

Students will work in teams of 3–4 to design a prototype concept for a wearable device that supports emergency responders or patients in high-stress scenarios.

They’ll draw on their experience with VR emergency response and sound perception to explore how biometric data and audio feedback can improve decision-making, safety, and communication.

Data Defenders: From Systems to Security

Protecting networks from modern cyber threats

This one-day program connects students’ experiences in VR and AI with the world of cyber security. Through interactive challenges, scenario-based learning, and collaborative design tasks, students will explore how data, systems, and digital tools can be protected from cyber threats.

By the end of the day, they’ll be equipped with the foundational knowledge and team dynamics needed to confidently begin the Embedded Cyber Security program.
